Oskar Burman to lead Rovio’s Stockholm office

Rovio has announced that it has appointed Oskar Burman as the head of its new Stockholm studio.

Burman, former General Manager of EA’s free to play developer Easy Studios, joins Rovio with over 15 years of experience in the industry.

“Rovio impressed me right from the start with their ability to think and execute in a big way,” said Burman. “When other game publishers are satisfied with building a great game, Rovio builds a 360 degree entertainment experience, where the great game is just the start. I’m super excited to set up Rovio’s first development studio outside Finland, and over the years to come, create awesome entertainment delighting people from every corner of the world!”

In addition to Easy Studios, Burman’s resumé includes a Studio Manager position at Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios. He is also a co-founder of the Swedish Unique Development Studios, which was shut down in 2004, and a board member of the Swedish games industry trade organization Dataspelsbranchen.

According to Rovio, the new Stockholm studio will be focused on supporting Rovio in current and upcoming game projects.
